Event Recap

TAPpy Hour - West LA

Even though it was a misty Wednesday evening with a slight chill in the air, the TAPpy Hour West LA January Mixer gathered 57 attendees from across the greater Los Angeles area. We packed the house like only LA can! At the Wellesbourne, a lounge that transported our guests to a new world of 19th Century English styling, understated elegance and charming home-like comforts. Guests had the pleasure of enjoying a beautifully sophisticated atmosphere with walls lined with books and dark, rich wood. If we missed you at this one, there will be another. The mission for TAPpy Hours is to create a safe, comfortable, and friendly setting for our members and guests to discover new opportunities and meet lots of new people. The TAP-LA family would be honored to have a drink together and get to know your unique story. Cheers !

College Mentorship Program

In Session 3 of The College Mentorship Program, the group learned about the 3rd step in "Building Professional Relationships" - maintaining the relationship (after Step 1: 1st impression and Step 2: building a connection). Mentees and mentors explored setting up a schedule for keeping in touch, and levels of involvement in messaging/emailing. Would you like to be a mentor? Get in touch with lien.chen@tap-la.org

TACL Winter Convention in San Diego

If inspiration is the fuel to overcoming obstacles, then TACL Winter Convention 2018 in San Diego was the fueling station. It was a single weekend of reuniting with prevailing friends; shaking the hands of and embracing the hugs of TAP family members across the nation. 152 TAP leaders, members, and contributors arrived on the scene to kick off Friday evenings signature TAPPY Hour.

2 days of programming followed, including workshops and discussions on important social issues and community building. Furthermore, speaker Michelle Kuo, author of Reading with Patrick, took the stage on Saturday to share personal experiences about civic engagement and ethnic division. The weekend was wrapped up with a surf in the ocean and a paraglide through the coastal cliffs. Nothing less than perfect, TAP-SD successfully created and inspired 152 unforgettable memories and moments. Thank you all!
